I’m Helen and I’ve been cooking for nearly 40 years. I come from a family of some pretty amazing cooks. My mum was a great cook, so was my grandma and so are my aunts.
I’ve always been fascinated with food and how it brings people together, in celebration, happiness and sorrow. The intergenerational stories that have been passed down through food, the different regional tastes and techniques.
For Greeks food is more than what is on the plate. It’s the traditions of where food is farmed, it’s the family orchard, the village vineyard, the local bee-keepers and the 5th generation of family harvesting olives. I want to share these great artisan products with you through the beautiful array of products we make available for you to enjoy.
I also am inspired by the stories and recipes of cookbooks. Again they showcase the different cultures, different techniques, different ingredients, you learn so much from books.
So I guess this is the amalgamation of my love for food, cooking and books!
